‘How to run the ‘COME AND SEE’ course — training for leaders

This training session takes place at ‘DAY FOR LEADERS’

Oct 19, St Paul’s Secondary School, Greenhills, Dub 12.

Come and See is an exciting series of six presentations. Each is of 90 minutes duration. Its purpose is to inspire a missionary spirit within a parish where people engage in evangelization. Each presentation deals with a specific theme to help participants:

·      Appreciate God’s personal longing and love.

·      Meet Jesus risen as the living mystery of God’s eternal presence & lifegiving power among us.

·       Learn the significance of sharing the beauty of God through friendship, and word, within everyday encounters.

·      Recognise the sacredness and uniqueness of one’s own story.

·      Experience the gift of God’s Spirit who desires to awaken and make all things new.

·      Discern God’s purposes for one’s parish.

In Ireland, this series has given birth to a reawakening for individuals. In many parishes, centres of support, sharing and evangelization, known as parish cells, have sprung up. These inspire a distinctive vision of, and commitment to, the development of missionary parishes where everyone evangelizes.

“You have the vocation to be like a seed through which the parish community can ask itself about its missionary identity”. Meeting in homes, as you do, ‘is a genuine experience of evangelization that is very like what took place in the early days of the church”

(Pope Francis, 5 Sept 2015, Rome to 5,000 cell participants).
